The plains, the crater
and the sea — for two
An unhurried honeymoon that begins in the Serengeti and ends barefoot on Zanzibar. Private vehicle, intimate camps and time kept deliberately empty.
Begin a conversationA honeymoon should feel like the start of something, not a schedule to get through.
We plan honeymoons around fewer places and longer stays. Two or three camps at most on safari, chosen for their intimacy and their views, then a quiet villa on the coast where the only decision is when to swim.
Your guide is yours alone, the vehicle is yours alone, and the days bend around you. Sleep in one morning, stay out for sundowners the next. We take care of the small touches quietly and never make a performance of them.

Small things, done well
A private dinner under the stars on your first night in the Serengeti. A hot-air balloon over the plains at dawn, with champagne breakfast where it lands. A picnic lunch on a kopje with nobody else in sight.
Then Stone Town at dusk, a dhow sailing off the north coast, and a villa on a quiet stretch of the east coast where the tide goes out for miles.
Plan our honeymoonTen days, bush and beach
Every honeymoon is shaped individually. Longer beach stays, a Kilimanjaro climb beforehand, or Tarangire in place of the crater are all easy to arrange.

Before you ask
How long should a honeymoon safari be?
We suggest at least five nights on safari and three or four on the coast. Anything less tends to feel rushed; ten to fourteen days is ideal.
Is Zanzibar a good match for a Tanzania safari?
It is the natural finish. The flight from the Serengeti or Arusha is short, and after early starts in the bush, a few days of doing nothing on the coast are very welcome. See our Zanzibar page.
Can we add a hot-air balloon flight?
Yes — balloon flights run over the central and southern Serengeti. They sell out in high season, so we book them early.
